Parents can use this from birth up until the child is at the point of not needing a buggy anymore and therefore is very good value for money. The sturdy structure allows the pram longevity and a great benefit is the material is machine washable, helping to maintain the sleek appearance.

The Maclaren Techno XT has a sturdy feel and is relatively light – compared to a travel system, for example. The stroller pretty much turns on the spot, so is very manoeuvrable. Steering is possible one-handed and manoeuvres well down narrow shopping aisles do be careful of hanging heavy bags on the handles as the stroller may tip.

The comfortable extendible handles are great if like me you're a bit taller or wearing heels, so no stooping and so no back strain whilst pushing the Maclaren Techno XT. However, the handles may become sticky after a year or so. Folding and opening the compact Maclaren Techno XT is easy, once you have practiced, perhaps it isn’t the fastest folder as it does not have a 1 click mechanism.

The Maclaren Techno XT has a comfortable and spacious seat which reclines into 4 different positions, from upright to flat - ideal for nap time. The optional extra Universal footmuff is fab for the winter time adding warmth and comfort. Both the footmuff is machine washable - seat fabric also poppers off and can be placed in the machine too!

The underneath storage basket is quite small and is not very accessible when the baby is laying flat, so you have to make sure you take out what you need first before reclining baby. This is a common issue for most umbrella strollers.

The Maclaren Techno XT is sturdy and good to use it on different road surface types, including bumpy and rough ground this may be due to a good level of suspension - far better than most other umbrella-style buggies. Also, mud doesn't get stuck in wheels whilst out and about in the woods etc! The lockable wheels enable the wheels to break, however the clicking mechanism may not click into place easily. It’s advised that you measure the boot of your car as the Maclaren Techno XT is quite long when folded. It definitely fits in the boots of: Nissan Micra, Vectra, Megane, Laguna, Mondeo and the Golf

The Maclaren Techno XT‘s cover hood is impressive is and much bigger and more practical than other strollers of this type. The hood has an extra zip out section so you can lower the hood to cover baby's face which is secure for keeping strong winds and shades the baby from sun (no fiddly parasols needed). Also this hood is great for making it a bit darker when asleep as it pulls right down to the base. However, it may be difficult to see baby through the small window in the back of the canopy.
